Event Fabrication Artist Job at Blossoms Events in Murrells Inlet
Blossoms Events, Murrells Inlet, SC, United States
Blossoms Events is a full-service event design and production company based in Murrells Inlet, SC. We specialize in unforgettable weddings and bespoke private events, designing and building bespoke installations from custom bars, seating and dance floors to floral installations, signage, and large‑scale decorative structures. We’re a tight‑knit team of creatives who love bringing big ideas to life—and having fun doing it. We curate extraordinary experiences that combine artistry, innovation, and flawless execution. Our events are known for their sophisticated aesthetics, meticulous attention to detail, and personalized guest experiences.
The Role
We are seeking an Event Fabrication Artist —a hands‑on maker, visual problem‑solver, and material explorer—who can transform abstract ideas into tangible, immersive event environments.
This role is for someone who doesn’t just build, but concepts through materials : asking What should this be made of? How can we achieve this look? What’s the smartest, most beautiful way to bring this vision to life? You’ll work at the intersection of art, design, and fabrication, creating bespoke décor elements that feel intentional, sculptural, and unforgettable.
What You’ll Create
One‑of‑a‑kind décor pieces including sculptural backdrops, arches, dimensional walls, props, scenic installations, and textural elements
Custom surfaces and finishes through paint, plaster, fabric, foam, resin, paper, vinyl, wood, and mixed media
Experimental builds that require creative thinking, mockups, and material testing—not just following instructions
Responsibilities
Creative Problem Solving & Concept Execution
Translate design concepts, inspiration imagery, and creative direction into physical form
Determine how something should be built—selecting materials, finishes, and construction methods to achieve the desired aesthetic
Prototype, test, and refine fabrication approaches before final production
Fabrication & Artistic Execution
Fabricate custom décor elements with a high level of artistry and craftsmanship
Execute specialty finishes including textured paint, faux finishes, aging, color‑washing, staining, sculptural detailing, and layering techniques
Collaborate closely with carpenters, floral designers, and installers to integrate artistic elements into structural builds
Support on‑site installation and strike of fabricated elements
Adjust, troubleshoot, and refine pieces during live production environments
Ensure final installations feel polished, intentional, and aligned with the original creative vision
Maintain a thoughtful, organized, and efficient studio workspace
Participate in material sourcing, testing, and experimentation
Manage multiple projects with shifting timelines and evolving creative needs
Who You Are
A maker with strong artistic intuition and hands‑on fabrication skills
Someone who enjoys figuring out how to make something exist , not just executing directions
Comfortable working across materials—wood, foam, fabric, paint, paper, acrylic, resin, or whatever the project demands
Detail‑driven but flexible; inventive but practical
Energized by creative collaboration and fast‑paced production environments
Experience & Skills
Strong understanding of materials, finishes, and fabrication techniques
Ability to work with hand tools and shop equipment safely and confidently
Visual literacy—able to interpret sketches, renderings, and inspiration boards
Physically capable of fabricating and installing large‑scale pieces
Willingness to work nights, weekends, and travel as required by event schedules
What Makes This Special
You’ll help invent the way each event looks—not just execute a pre‑set plan
No two projects are the same; creativity and ingenuity are valued as much as technical skill
Your ideas, material choices, and craftsmanship will be visible and celebrated
You’ll collaborate with a multidisciplinary creative team producing high‑end, immersive environments
Preferred
Background in live events, weddings, experiential marketing, large‑scale installations or other creative fabrication environment working with a variety of materials.
Combination of independent work, and collaboration with design, fabrication and warehouse teams
Occasional onsite presence during installs or load‑ins for large or complex projects
Fast‑paced environment requiring independent judgment and accountability
How to Apply
Please submit your resume and work samples or a portfolio demonstrating your artistic production experience.
Join us to be part of an innovative team doing exciting work! Your expertise will help shape impactful projects while advancing your career in a fast‑paced environment committed to excellence.
