Position Summary

Western Carolina University seeks a qualified part-time (adjunct) faculty member to enhance its academic program in the broadcasting concentration. These appointments are on a course‑by‑course basis. Salary is commensurate with education, experience, and discipline. Minimum Qualifications

• PhD or master’s degree in the teaching discipline, or master’s degree with a concentration in the teaching discipline (minimum 18 graduate semester hours in that discipline), or substantial professional experience in video/film production.


• Experience working with video and DSLR cameras and basic editing skills in Adobe Premiere Pro or other NLE software.


• Knowledge of live television studio is desired.

Preferred Qualifications

• A terminal degree is preferred.

• Proficient in video production and editing techniques.


• Ability to work independently and manage course content and student learning.


• Effective communication and instructional skills.
