Position Summary
Western Carolina University seeks a qualified part-time (adjunct) faculty member to enhance its academic program in the broadcasting concentration. These appointments are on a course‑by‑course basis. Salary is commensurate with education, experience, and discipline. The postings are continuous to develop a qualified pool of interested candidates; if your area of expertise meets the programmatic needs at any time, you will be contacted to discuss proposed teaching opportunities.

Minimum Qualifications

PhD or master’s degree in the teaching discipline, or master’s degree with a concentration in the teaching discipline (minimum 18 graduate semester hours in that discipline), or substantial professional experience in video/film production.

Experience working with video and DSLR cameras and basic editing skills in Adobe Premiere Pro or other NLE software.

Knowledge of live television studio is desired.

Preferred Qualifications

A terminal degree is preferred.

Proficient in video production and editing techniques.

Ability to work independently and manage course content and student learning.

Effective communication and instructional skills.
