Interior Design Associate – Design Production & Technical Documentation
CoCreative Interiors is seeking an Interior Design Associate with a strong technical and execution-focused skill set to support residential and boutique commercial projects led by our Founder and Creative Director.

This role is ideal for a designer who thrives on technical details, enjoys translating finalized designs into clear, build-ready documentation, and values follow-through from drawings through installation. The position plays a critical role in ensuring design intent is documented accurately, coordinated across teams, and executed smoothly in the field.

Creative leadership and final design decisions remain with the Creative Director. This role focuses on technical rigor, documentation accuracy, and execution support.

Design Production & Documentation

Produce accurate CAD and Sketchup/Revit drawings, including space plans, kitchens and baths, millwork, existing-condition plans, RCPs, electrical plans, elevations, details, and schedules

Develop interior architectural plans for renovations, reconfigurations, and additions in coordination with the Creative Director and external architects and engineers

Create 3D models and visualizations to support design development and client presentations

Develop and maintain comprehensive specification books aligned with finalized designs

Ensure all drawings and documentation are accurate, coordinated, and ready for procurement and construction

Selections & Design Translation

Support the selection process by preparing and coordinating material, finish, fixture, lighting, and furniture options for review

Research trade vendors and products based on finalized selections and approved budget parameters

Attend selection meetings to document decisions, dimensions, quantities, and adjacencies

Translate finalized selections into coordinated drawings, schedules, and specifications

Specification & Procurement Support (Documentation Only)

Request pricing, availability, and lead-time information from vendors as directed

Enter vendor pricing and approved markup structures into Studio Designer (subject to Operations review)

Prepare accurate client proposal documentation for internal review and approval

Assemble complete documentation packages for procurement handoff

Collaborate with the procurement team to support order tracking and follow-up

Project & Install Support

Manage assigned design scopes independently with oversight as needed

Maintain organized digital project files, drawings, and meeting recaps

Support site visits, pre-install walkthroughs, and install preparation

Assist with styling inventory management, returns, and installation logistics

Support install days and project reveals as needed

Qualifications
Education & Experience

Degree in Interior Design or related field, or equivalent experience

Open to recent graduates with strong technical skills or designers with 1–3+ years of experience

Demonstrated experience producing drawings in a professional or academic setting

Technical Skills (Required)

Proficiency in Sketchup or Revit for interior design documentation

Proficiency in CAD for drafting and layout development

Strong understanding of construction documentation standards

Producing accurate drawings with minimal revisions

Supporting selections, procurement prep, and installs with consistency and follow-through

Becoming a trusted execution partner to the Creative Director

Full-time, in-office role - preference in someone living already in the Charlotte, NC area

Occasional local travel for site visits and installations
