Essential Duties & Responsibilities Operate heavy equipment such as excavators, loaders, backhoes, forklifts, and other machinery as required. Perform pre-operation inspections to ensure equipment is in proper working condition. Read and interpret blueprints, plans, and specifications to execute tasks accurately. Conduct site preparation, excavation, grading, trenching, and material movement. Maintain equipment by cleaning, fueling, and performing minor repairs or adjustments. Adhere to safety protocols and regulations to prevent accidents and injuries. Collaborate with team members, supervisors, and other site personnel to meet project deadlines. Monitor job site conditions to identify potential hazards and report issues promptly. Maintain accurate records of daily equipment use, maintenance, and project progress. Required (Minimum Necessary) Qualifications Education Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent. Level of Experience Requirements: Valid heavy equipment operator certification or license. Proven experience operating heavy machinery in construction or related fields. Familiarity with OSHA safety standards and other relevant regulations. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics Knowledge of equipment maintenance and basic repair procedures. Strong hand-eye coordination and physical stamina to perform strenuous tasks. Ability to work in varying weather conditions and on challenging terrain. Knowledge of organizational procedures and workflows – understanding how work moves through a company. Basic knowledge of relevant technologies or tools – e.g., Microsoft 365, communication platforms, or industry‑standard software. Knowledge of customer service practices – principles of providing quality service and managing inquiries professionally. Knowledge of data privacy and confidentiality principles – awareness of proper handling of sensitive information. Communication skills (written and verbal) – ability to convey information clearly and professionally. Time management and prioritization – balancing multiple tasks and meeting deadlines. Problem‑solving and critical thinking – analyzing issues and selecting appropriate solutions. Interpersonal and teamwork skills – building rapport and collaborating effectively with others. Attention to detail – producing accurate, error‑free work.
