Requirements



  • Bachelors degree in engineering, mathematics, or a scientific discipline from an accredited institution

  • Background in engineering or physics

  • Exceptional presentation and written communication abilities

  • Strong experience in customer coordination

  • Proven track record in performance analysis of infrared camera systems

  • Capability to lead technical teams to achieve cost, schedule, and performance objectives

  • Proficiency in infrared sensor systems along with related mechanical and optical components

  • Experience in transitioning high‑tech products from development to production

  • Skills in troubleshooting and failure analysis of complex hardware

  • Masters degree or PhD in a related field is preferred

  • Familiarity with FPA manufacturing technologies and closed‑cycle cryogenic systems

  • Knowledge of vacuum packaging processes

  • Expertise in MATLAB programming

  • Experience with radiometric testing and analysis of infrared systems or sensors

  • Understanding of high vacuum and ESD handling protocols

  • Background in electronics and equipment related to infrared video collection and testing

  • Knowledge of reliability engineering and six‑sigma principles

  • Familiarity with Systems Engineering and Model‑Based Systems Engineering (MBSE)

  • Expertise in CAMEO and DOORS

  • Ability to read mechanical drawings


Responsibilities



  • Spearhead electro‑optical/infrared (EO/IR) analysis and physics‑based modeling to formulate and validate sensor system concepts

  • Conduct trade studies, define requirements, and make architectural decisions for both new and existing infrared cameras

  • Serve as project or technical lead: develop detailed plans, monitor tasks, schedules, budgets, and performance metrics

  • Deliver technical briefings and status updates to clients, program management, and senior leadership using clear and persuasive communication

  • Mentor and supervise engineers and technicians from various disciplines (mechanical, electrical, optical) in executing design, integration, and testing activities

  • Perform system debugging and troubleshooting, rapidly directing technical responses to resolve hardware challenges

  • Support production operations by reviewing manufacturing processes, ensuring compliance, and implementing corrective actions

  • Maintain detailed technical documentation, design data, and configuration control using company tools

  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams, including systems, software, testing, and quality assurance, to ensure smooth integration

  • Travel as necessary to supplier locations, customer sites, or testing ranges to support essential milestones and interface reviews
