Position Title: Adjunct Communication Instructor

Job Summary/Basic Function
Part‑time adjunct instructor of Communication. Teach one or two lower‑division courses per semester as needed. Most adjunct teaching opportunities in Communication are in two courses: COMM 1020 Principles of Public Speaking, COMM 2110 Interpersonal and Small Group Communication, and COMM 1130 Media Writing.

This is a pooled position. Applicants are selected from the pool as positions become available. After a period of time the pool will expire and applicants will be notified.

Required Qualifications

Master’s degree in Communication.

Note: Applicants with an undergraduate degree in a discipline other than Communication will be considered if they also possess a graduate degree in Communication or a closely related field.

Preferred Qualifications

Master’s degree in Communication or a closely related field.

Some teaching experience.

Background Check

Visual Acuity Requirements
Required to perform activities such as preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; using a computer terminal; extensive reading.

Work Environment Conditions
The worker is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions (i.e., typical office or administrative work).
