Communication Adjunct Instructor Pool
The Department of Communication seeks to hire adjunct lecturers to cover courses as needed for upcoming semesters. Successful applicants will teach one or two courses in the following academic majors: Advertising, Communication Studies, Electronic Media/Broadcasting, Digital Journalism, and Public Relations. Instruction may be in person, on the Boone or Hickory campuses, online, or hybrid, depending on need.

Position Summary: The Department of Communication employs more than 40 full‑time faculty members dedicated to teaching more than 1,000 students who major in Advertising, Communication Studies, Electronic Media/Broadcasting, Digital Journalism, and Public Relations. The department is also home to multiple award‑winning student organizations and student‑run media outlets, which are open to all students on campus.
Minimum Qualifications
Master’s degree in Communication or related discipline, or evidence of exceptional professional experience is required.
