Description: As the Mission Strategy and Advanced Capabilities Director (MSAC) Senior Manager for Communications Systems, you will lead Strategy Development, Technology Development and New Business Capture for a variety of communication missions. Working within Lockheed Martin Space, this position will report to the MSAC Director of Military and Strategic Communications within the GSA/GC3 Mission Strategy and Advanced Capabilities Deputy (MSAC) Organization (Global Situational Awareness/Global Command, Control and Communications). This position is aligned to the National Security Space (NSS) Line of Business (LOB), and works across the Global Communications and Navigation (GCN) Mission Segment to drive new competitiveness into all-orbit communication solutions. It also works closely with Strategic Communications missions aligned to Nuclear Command, Control and Communications (NC3) and the Intelligence Community (IC) and partners with LM International on allied communications and LM Civil and Commercial LOB on commercial opportunities. In this role the chosen candidate will oversee the development and implementation of mission based strategy, capture, products, solutions, technologies, and new business sales pipelines. The candidate will have accountability to shape and win new business (including re-compete and task order expansions) through a balanced focus on customer value, the competitive environment, and the corporation’s best interests. They will develop capture strategy including business solution for pursuits; identify potential customers, conduct competitive assessments, team with suppliers, and set prices-to-win; and manage bid and proposal activities. The role requires leading cross‑functional teams and directing team activities for the duration of the pursuit, maintaining ongoing interaction with customers, and actively coordinating with LM Government Affairs.

Basic Qualifications

12+ years of experience in new business captures and/or system acquisition, development and operations of DoD or Commercial communications systems.

Leading the development and execution of capture strategies for emerging and existing programs based on a foundation of mission engineering and technology maturation.

Demonstrated strategic mindset with the ability to chart clear growth paths for complex organizations with a disparate stakeholder group.

Demonstrated experience with military customers and acquisition organizations.

Executive presence and engagement including management of executives or leader of leaders roles.

Demonstrated experience leading growth of business including managing pipeline, directing resources, and leading capture of new business.

US Citizen, currently possess and be able to maintain a TS [SCI eligible] clearance, as well as successfully pass a drug and background check, in order to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

Desired Skills

Experience with communications systems, including space or ground applications.

Maintaining strong customer relationships with recurring interaction focused on customer and mission need. Establish new customer relationships to drive growth.

Familiarity with customer community both domestically and abroad, spanning a variety of communication systems, including understanding of key customer priorities & limitations (e.g., budget, policy) that drive the community toward constrained solutions.

Assessment of new opportunities and markets, assisting in the disposition of opportunities based on LM Space strategy and probability of win.

Oversight of budgets with emphasis on prioritization of spending based on strategic alignment.

Demonstrated cross‑organization collaboration with demonstrated new business results. Experience leading in complex environments.

Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance; you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full‑time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Schedule for this Position: 9x80 every other Friday off

Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $151,200 - $266,570. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
