Community Manager Job at Resident Company Club in New York
Resident Company Club, New York, NY, United States
About Us
Resident is a private workspace designed for founders, early-stage teams, and high-performing professionals seeking curated, values-aligned communities. We vet every member company for cultural and strategic fit. Resident focuses on private offices, hospitality-driven service, and proactive community building that enables meaningful professional relationships and collaboration.
About the Role
We’re looking for a social, sharp, and resourceful Community Manager / Builder to become the heartbeat of our space. Someone who’s not afraid to get their hands dirty, solve unexpected problems on the fly, and make every member feel like a VIP. If you come from the hospitality world, have coworking experience, or you just get people and love making them feel seen and supported, you’ll fit right in.
This isn’t a behind-the-desk job. You’ll be actively walking the floor and orchestrating experiences that turn great spaces into unforgettable communities.
What You’ll Do
Member Experience & Engagement
Create a warm, welcoming atmosphere and become the familiar face every member looks forward to seeing
Learn about our residents beyond just names and companies: their interests, quirks, goals, and pet peeves
Facilitate curated introductions between like-minded members
Build out detailed member profiles in our CRM to support a hyper-personalized experience
Deliver welcome packets and guide new members through onboarding
Organize cool and fun events, member appreciation gestures, and ongoing “magic touches” that make the space feel alive
Be the go-to person for questions, quick fixes, and random needs (need a phone charger? you’ve got it)
Manage incoming requests through our help desk system
Encourage thoughtful coworking etiquette in creative, non-cheesy ways
Post daily optimism prompts and conversation starters to spark community energy
Run engaging, high-touch tours that feel more like conversations than sales pitches
Understand people’s business needs and help them figure out how we can best support them
Offer guests coffee, tea, and even a little chocolate; it’s the small things that matter
Evaluate each company for cultural and community fit
Who You Are
Charismatic and people-obsessed; you remember names, faces, and coffee orders
Exceptionally organized and resourceful under pressure
A creative problem solver who thrives in early-stage environments
Obsessed with service, but not in a scripted way; you’re natural, thoughtful, and warm
Hungry to grow, learn, and take on responsibility
Comfortable wearing many hats (and doing things that aren’t in your “job description”)
Located in NYC and available for on-site, in-person work 5 days a week
Why Join Us
You’ll be the second hire in a fast-growing, high-ambition company
You’ll work closely with the Founder & CEO and be involved in strategic decisions
You’ll get the autonomy to shape how the space feels and functions
Your ideas will matter and will be implemented
You’ll build real relationships, not just manage desks
Ready to build something meaningful in NYC? We’d love to meet you.
