
Equity Research Analyst

The role will be fully remote for the near term, eventually an office will be opened in Westchester, NY or NYC
What This Person Will Do
Generate and evaluate high-conviction trade ideas (equities + some options)
Identify catalyst-driven setups (earnings, macro shifts, positioning, sentiment)
Define entry, targets, and invalidation levels
Structure ideas with clear risk/reward thinking
Monitor active ideas and provide concise updates
Maintain discipline around quality over quantity
Must‑Have Profile
1–4 years in equity research, trading, hedge fund, or similar analytical role
Strong understanding of market dynamics, catalysts, and price behavior
Ability to generate original ideas (not just summarize)
Thinks in probabilities and asymmetric risk/reward
Clear and concise communicator
Nice‑to‑Have
Experience with options (basic structuring)
Exposure to macro (rates, inflation, sector rotation)
Familiarity with technical levels or sentiment indicators
Background in fast‑paced environments (trading desk, smaller funds, etc.)
What This Role Is NOT (Important for Filtering)
Not a reporting or dashboard‑heavy analyst
Not long‑form equity research
Not a passive support role
Not day trading or high‑frequency signals
Not content or social media driven
Candidates from very traditional research backgrounds without experience in idea generation are not a fit.
