Veterinary Assistant / Receptionist - Dravosburg Veterinary Hospital

Dravosburg Veterinary Hospital is a busy, community-focused 1.5 DVM practice dedicated to providing compassionate, high-quality care to the pets and families we serve. As our hospital continues to grow, we're looking for a friendly, motivated Veterinary Assistant who can also support our front desk team as a Receptionist.

Education/Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Registered Veterinary Technicians in PA are preferred, not necessarily required. We are open and willing to train the right candidate.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Checks patient medical records for past histories, enters in computer and files.
- Takes medical histories and vital signs of patients.
- Maintains client educational material in an efficient manner.
- Performs departmental housekeeping duties.
- Admits and discharges patients.
- Takes, processes and logs prescription refills in-house, call out pharmacy and online pharmacy.
- Monitoring hospital patients and logging vital signs.
- Administering medications to patients as needed.
- Placing catheters and performing blood draws.
- Restraining and assisting the doctor during exams, treatments, and anesthesia procedures.
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds, stoop, bend, and stand on feet for long periods
- Answer client phone calls
- Schedule appointments as needed
- Invoicing and accepting payments
- Other duties as assigned.
