Accounting Clerk

The Accounting Clerk has primary responsibility for timely and accurate payment of invoices for Southern Bancorp and its subsidiary and affiliate companies. This position may be based in either our Little Rock or Arkadelphia office.
Responsibilities:
Process and pay all invoices accurately and in a timely manner for Southern and its subsidiary and affiliated companies.
Maintain and update vendor information; scan and upload all relevant documentation into the Accounts Payable system and contact vendors as needed to obtain updated information.
Ensure all disbursement and payments are properly authorized and comply with appropriate policies and procedures.
Complete all required or assigned training.
Perform other tasks as required by supervisor as they pertain to Southern and its mission.
Qualifications and Requirements:
High School diploma or equivalent is required along with two years of bank operations experience; or an equivalent combination of education and/or work experience
Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel and 10 Key calculator
Prior experience with electronic accounts payable system preferred, with additional preference given to AvidXchange system experience
Aptitude for problem solving
Good written and oral communication skills
Strong computer skills including experience with Microsoft Office products
Excellent reasoning skills
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
