The Fabrication Business Development Manager is responsible for driving revenue growth through the sale of custom fabrication solutions, including structural steel, pressure vessels, piping systems, skids, and modular assemblies. This role focuses on developing new business, managing key accounts, and delivering technical-commercial solutions to customers across industries such as oil & gas, power generation, petrochemical, renewable energy, infrastructure, and industrial manufacturing. The ideal candidate combines strong knowledge of fabrication processes and project execution with proven sales, estimating, and relationship-management skills.

About the Role
The Fabrication Business Development Manager is responsible for driving revenue growth through the sale of custom fabrication solutions.

Responsibilities

Sales & Business Development

Identify, develop, and close sales opportunities for fabrication projects, including structural, mechanical, and modular fabrication scopes.

Manage the full sales cycle from lead generation and RFQ review to proposal submission, negotiation, and contract award.

Develop and execute strategic account plans to expand presence within key customers and target markets.

Build a strong pipeline of opportunities aligned with company fabrication capabilities and capacity.

Achieve or exceed annual sales targets, bookings, and margin objectives.

Technical & Commercial Support

Review customer specifications, drawings, and scope documents to define project requirements and fabrication deliverables.

Collaborate with engineering, estimating, and operations teams to develop competitive, technically compliant proposals.

Provide input on pricing strategies, cost estimates, and risk assessments.

Present fabrication capabilities, quality standards, and value-added solutions to customers.

Support contract negotiations, including scope clarification, commercial terms, and change management.

Serve as the primary commercial contact for clients throughout the project lifecycle.

Build and maintain long-term relationships with key decision-makers, engineers, and procurement teams.

Ensure alignment between customer expectations and internal execution teams regarding scope, schedule, and quality.

Proactively address customer concerns, resolve issues, and support successful project delivery.

Coordinate with internal departments to ensure seamless handoff from sales to project execution.

Market & Industry Engagement

Monitor market trends, fabrication demand, and competitor capabilities within target industries.

Identify new market opportunities, including emerging sectors such as energy transition and infrastructure development.

Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and client meetings.

Provide regular sales forecasts, opportunity updates, and market insights to management.

Qualifications
Technical Knowledge

Solid understanding of fabrication processes, including structural steel, pressure vessels, piping systems, skids, and modular assemblies.

Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, isometrics, weld procedures (WPS/PQR), and technical specifications.

Familiarity with fabrication materials, welding methods, machining, and surface treatment/coating processes.

Basic knowledge of relevant industry codes and standards (ASME, AWS, API, ISO).

Work Experience

5+ years of sales or business development experience in fabrication, manufacturing, or industrial services.

Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets in a B2B environment with established customer portfolio.
