You’ll be making bats, shipping orders, and documenting production from start to finish. Execute the full bat production cycle alongside the Production Manager — turning support, finishing, and quality control
Apply finish coats per established protocols, tracking coat counts and weights at each stage
Sand, buff, and prepare bat surfaces between finishing stages
Receive and inspect billets; record weights and lot information accurately
Perform in-process quality checks: weight, diameter measurements, and visual inspection
Pack and ship finished orders accurately and on time
Maintain thorough production records for every bat
Keep the shop clean, organized, and operating safely
Qualifications
Required:
Strong attention to detail — this is precision craft manufacturing, not high-volume assembly
Ability to follow written protocols and document work accuratelyComfortable working with finishing chemicals; willingness to follow all PPE and ventilation requirements
Reliable, consistent attendance — as a two-person team, your presence directly affects output
Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs
Preferred:
Prior experience in woodworking, finish carpentry, cabinet making, lutherie, or a related trade
Familiarity with calipers, digital scales, or other precision measurement tools
Experience operating a camera for photo/video content capture — not required, but a genuine bonus
Baseball background or genuine interest in the game — it matters when you understand what you’re making
Pay: Competitive hourly, depending on experience
Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours per week, Monday–Friday
Health insurance offered; employer covers 50% of the premium
Real opportunities for advancement for motivated, enterprising individuals
