Seldovia Village Tribe is excited to announce the following seasonal employment opportunity. This position is busy but exciting. The right candidate will be reliable, eager to work, trustworthy, and will enjoy working with people. We need people to begin training immediately and must be available for the length of the season (through September).

Position Overview

The Visitor Center Attendant/Ticket Agent is responsible for greeting visitors in a professional and informative manner. This position is responsible for merchandise, ticket sales and all related cash-handling, reporting, and inventory tracking

Duties and Responsibilities

• Opening and closing of the Visitor's Center and Museum
• Greet and track visitors, assisting with information about Seldovia and local directions
• Responsible for the sale of Seldovia Bay Ferry tickets and Visitor Center merchandise
• Operate a computerized sale system and maintaining inventory
• Cash handling including reconciling the cash drawer
• Answer phone calls, responding to inquiries
• Perform special projects and other related duties as required or directed as the situation dictates

Preferred Qualifications

Ability to communicate fluently in English in verbal and written form

Must pass a background check

Must pass a pre-employment drug screen

Proficiency in the use of Macs and Apple products like iPads and iPhones

Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite and various web browsers

Must be able to effectively learn and use a POS (point of sale) system (Square) and a web-based sales tool for ticket sales

Proficiency in the ability to count money, provide change, sales tracking and cash drawer handling.

Travel Requirements

Travel between Visitor's Center location and Seldovia Bay Ferry Ticketing location, required. Both are located on Main Street and walkable/bikeable!
