LSMSA is a selective admission, public residential high school located in Natchitoches, LA. We're looking for a Custodian 2 to join our team who takes pride in maintaining the appearance and cleanliness of state buildings and facilities. This position serves as a lead worker over a custodial crew performing routine manual tasks in maintaining the cleanliness, sanitary conditions, and appearance of state buildings and institutions; to perform higher-level specialized custodial tasks. Works closely with other custodial staff and supervisors. We are a 24/7 residential school.

Minimum Qualifications: Six months of experience in custodial, housekeeping, groundskeeping, or food service work.
Job Duties and Other Information: Cleans bathrooms, offices, hallways, and other assigned areas by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, and polishing. Moves, rearranges, and dusts furniture and fixtures. Mixes or blends cleaning solutions to proper concentrations as necessary for various tasks. Strips, cleans, and polishes floors using industrial-grade machines. Follows procedures for disposing of infectious waste. Maintains custodial equipment; reports needs for minor building and/or equipment repairs to a higher-level custodian. Operates wet/dry vacuum for cleaning and shampooing carpeted areas. Strips, decontaminates, and makes beds for residents, students, guests, etc. Serves as assistant to a custodial supervisor or other agency supervisor if required. Washes laboratory glassware by hand and/or automated washer; sterilizes glass and instruments by autoclave or dryers
Appointment Type: Probational, Promotional, or Job Appointment
Work Schedule: Typical work hours are 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday. Weekends, Holidays, or extended hours above and beyond the typical work week may be required.
