About the Role
The Company is seeking a VP/Controller with a strong background in finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles to join their team. The successful candidate will be tasked with the critical responsibility of overseeing the organization's financial health. This includes leading the financial planning and analysis process, such as annual budgeting, forecasting, and long-term strategic planning. The VP/Controller will also be involved in researching and investigating financial data, analyzing cash flows, developing and implementing internal controls, and providing financial insights and recommendations. Additionally, the role involves managing relationships with various financial stakeholders and ensuring that all financial documents and filings meet compliance obligations.
Applicants for the VP/Controller position at the company should have a Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or economics, with an MBA being a plus and a CPA preferred. A minimum of 10 years' progressive financial services experience is required, with a background in family trust, investments, insurance, or related fields. Public accounting experience and a strong understanding of M&A due diligence are also essential. The ideal candidate will be a strategic partner to executive leadership, possess exceptional presentation and communication skills, and be capable of leading and supporting M&A due diligence efforts, including financial analysis, integration planning, and reporting. The role demands a professional who can identify and analyze financial risks, assist with all audit and internal control operations, and complete year-end reporting, as well as undertake ad-hoc projects as needed.
