Overview
The Design Studio Coordinator supports the design team in day-to-day operations, ensuring the design room runs efficiently. This role is highly hands‑on, assisting with sample management, fabric organization, and coordination between design, product development, and production teams.
Key Responsibilities
Sample & Design Room Management
Maintain organization of the design room, including racks, shelves, and workspaces
Track incoming and outgoing samples
Ensure all samples are properly tagged, labeled, and logged
Assist in preparing samples for fittings, meetings, and photoshoots
Maintain seasonal sample archives
Fabric & Trim Coordination
Organize fabric library, swatches, and trim inventory
Label and track all incoming fabric submissions from vendors
Support designers in pulling fabrics and trims for development
Assist in sending out fabric/trim requests to vendors
Support Design Process
Assist designers with sketch updates, line sheets, and presentation boards
Help prepare seasonal boards (concept, color, fabric)
Maintain design boards and ensure updates are current
Support in CAD updates (basic Illustrator or PLM input if applicable)
Cross-Functional Coordination
Work with Product Development and Production teams to track sample status
Help follow up with vendors on sample shipments and timelines
Support fittings by preparing garments and taking notes if needed
Administrative Support
Maintain accurate logs of styles, fabrics, and samples
Assist with data entry into PLM/ERP systems (if applicable)
Handle general design room errands and organization tasks
Required Qualifications
1–2 years of experience in fashion design or related field (internship acceptable)
Degree in Fashion Design or related field preferred
Basic knowledge of garment construction and fabrics
Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator (Photoshop a plus)
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to multitask in a fast‑paced environment
Salary Range: $26.00 to $28.00 per hour.
