DESCRIPTION

The ED Tech works as a team member in an assigned area to assist with vital signs, perform EKGs, assist in ADLs, stock supplies, utilize safe patient handling to reposition and transport patients, provide comfort measures, and assist with patient care under the direct supervision of the RN. The ED Tech also collects and documents patient care data, applies cardiac monitor devices, transports laboratory specimens, assists the nurse and physician with procedures, and performs secretarial duties as needed.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

BART or BLS at time of hire with commitment to get BART within six (6) months of hire date.

Minimum six (6) months of experience in an emergency department, pre-hospital, acute care, or comparable settings.

Demonstrated computer knowledge and skills.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

EMT and/or CNA certification.
SPECIAL CONDITIONS

Must be willing to work nights.
Must be able to work in the Emergency Department Inpatient (E.D.I.P.) Area of the Emergency Department
Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.
Must be able to work at both UCSD Hillcrest and La Jolla hospitals. Employees will float between the Emergency Department and ED Inpatient (E.D.I.P) areas.
Employment is subject to a criminal background check and a pre-employment physical.
Pay Transparency Act
Annual Full Pay Range: $51,114 - $63,559 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)
Hourly Equivalent: $24.48 - $30.44
