Position Overview
Mfinite Consulting is seeking an experienced Reference Librarian to provide research assistance and instructional support to students, faculty, and staff within the Montgomery College library system. This role supports academic success by delivering expert guidance on research methods, database navigation, and information literacy.
Key Responsibilities
Provide research assistance through in-person and virtual library service platforms
Support students, faculty, and staff in navigating online catalogs, academic databases, and library collections
Conduct one-on-one research consultations and instructional library sessions
Deliver library instruction and information literacy training to students and faculty
Gather and analyze library usage statistics and reporting data
Support circulation desk operations as needed
Required Qualifications
Master's degree in Library and Information Science (MLS/MLIS) from an ALA-accredited institution preferred
Minimum of one (1) year of recent reference experience in an academic, research, or public library
Strong understanding of research methodologies and academic database systems
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Primo Discovery Service (Ex Libris)
Experience with Springshare products
Previous academic or community college library experience
