Librarian–Head of Reference
Department: Library Services
Primary Purpose
The Head of Reference Librarian provides leadership in developing and implementing library reference and outreach services, library instruction, collection development, and other related public services initiatives. The incumbent works with the Director of Library Services and the Head of Public Services to implement strategic initiatives for public services, reference, and instruction at the Chesnutt Library. This position reports to the Head of Public Services.
Minimum Requirements
ALA‑Accredited Master’s degree in Library and Information Science.
Three years professional experience in Academic Libraries.
Experience with Reference Services and Information / Digital Literacy.
Ability to work well with diverse populations.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Reference experience in an academic library.
Knowledge of emerging trends in academic libraries.
Familiarity with academic research resources and tools.
