Job Overview

4 day work week, 2nd shift $28.77/hr plus .50 shift differential pay M - TH 2:15pm - 12:45am

Setup, layout and operate various CNC mills

Reads blueprint or job order for product specificationsand tool instructions

Selects, positions, and secures tool in tool holder

Positions and secures work piece in holding device, machine table, chuck, centers or fixtures

Moves controls to position tool and work piece in relation to each other, and to set specified feeds, speeds and depth of cut

1stpiece inspection (check first piece/pieces per blueprints and BOMs)

Observes operation of machine and verifies conformity of machined work piece to specifications

Requires ability to read blueprints and precision measuring equipment such as micrometers and calipers

Keeps work area clean and orderly

Discusses errors in diagrams or production order with supervisor or engineer to clarify assembly problems.

A Day In The Life

Performs any assembly-type functions, using hand or power tools

Set up and Operate 3 and 5 axis CNC milling centers and CNC lathes

Adjusts, trim and fitting parts to close tolerances

Follows visual aids (standard work) to ensure work is correct

Make up cartons, print labels, insert protective packing material, seal finishing product

Meet efficiency rates

Perform quality checks to ensure quality specifications are met

Reports defective materials or questionable conditions

Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition - 5S

Must be flexible to rotate job assignments within various work cells

Performs related duties as assigned by supervision

Work within all safety guidelines and wear all required PPE

Solid experience with CNC Tooling, Controls and minor edits running CNC Mill machines

GED/HS Diploma
