Manager, MMIC Design Engineering
Key Responsibilities

Hands‑on leader responsible for managing GaAs and GaN amplifier designs

Lead the Lowell amplifier design team (7 engineers)

Set timelines, budgets, and resources allocation to ensure timely execution of milestones

Manage product development from kickoff through product evaluation

Maintain projects in AGILE

Mentor and provide technical leadership to team members and peers

Review MMIC designs and recommend design changes as necessary

Drive projects forward through the design and evaluation phases of product development to reduce time‑to‑market

Interface and collaborate with cross‑functional teams (e.g. Product Engineering, Quality, Marketing, Sales and Operations) to ensure manufacturable designs, quality requirements, and timeline goals are met for each product

Work with product engineering to transition projects from product development phase to product introduction phase

Support sales and marketing teams with feasibility studies and cost estimates to support proposals for new business development

Perform design work for the first 6 months to better learn new product development procedures and documentation requirements

Key Qualifications

BSEE or MSEE with 10+ years of experience in MMIC amplifier design of RF and microwave MMICs

Previous engineering management experience is preferred

Knowledge of power amplifier design techniques

Working knowledge of ADS

Good understanding of RF test and measurement techniques

Experience with AGILE is a plus

Must be detail oriented and able to handle multiple projects in parallel

Must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills

The Salary Range for this position is $150,000 - $190,000. Actual salary offered to candidates will depend on several factors, including but not limited to, work location, relevant candidates’ experience, education, and specific knowledge, skills, and abilities. This position is eligible to receive restricted stock unit (RSU) awards and cash bonuses, solely at MACOM’s discretion, subject to individual and company performance.
