Salary Statement
Estimated Starting Salary Range: USD $146,800.00/Yr. - USD $244,650.00/Yr. Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
Description
The Sr. Systems Engineer will be the technical lead responsible for the cybersecurity and operational health of a critical Department of Defense communications program.
- Working with a multidisciplinary team of engineers, analysts, and contractors, assessing system vulnerabilities, devising riskmitigation strategies, ensuring compliance with DoD cyberpolicy frameworks (RMF, NIST80053, CNSSI1253, etc.), and providing rapid response to security incidents and malware events
- Serving as the primary technical liaison with government program officials and vendors, delivering clear status reports and safeguarding missioncritical data and platforms

Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, technical, business, or computerscience/IT from an ABETaccredited or CAEdesignated institution or an Associate degreewith four years of relevant experience or sixyears of relevant experience
- Active DoD TopSecret (or higher) clearance at the time of hire
- At least one DoDapproved baseline certification, such as CISM, ISSO, FITSPM, GCIA, GCSA, GCIH, GSLC, GICSP, CISSPISSMP, CISSP, CISA, CCSP, or any equivalent credential recognized by the DoD Cyber Workforce Framework
- Minimum of three productive years of fulltime experience performing seniorlevel systemsengineering and cybersecurity duties (or equivalent onthejob training that meets the DoD CSWF Intermediate criteria)
- Experience with managing the cybersecurity posture of an organization, system, or enclave
- Experience with planning, implementing, and monitoring informationsystem controls
- Experience with coordinating with government stakeholders on technical and programmatic issues
- Ability to develop, enforce, and audit security policies and procedures
- Ability to oversee system administration, configuration management, and change control
- Ability to conduct risk assessments, produce System Security Plans (SSP) and POA&M documentation, and drive continuousmonitoring activities
- Ability to communicate technical status, risks, and recommendations clearly to both technical and nontechnical audiences
Desired Skills
- Deep knowledge of DoD cyberpolicy frameworks (RMF, NIST80053, CNSSI1253)
- Handson experience with security tools such as SIEM platforms, IDS/IPS, vulnerability scanners, endpoint protection, firewalls, PKI, and DLP solutions
- Proficiency with network protocols, Windows/Linux/Unix operating systems, and cloud environments (AWS GovCloud, Azure Government)
- Experience producing RMF artifacts (SSP, POA&M, securityassessment reports) and managing continuousmonitoring processes
- Proven record in incident response, forensic analysis, and remediation of cyber incidents within a DoD environment
- Strong stakeholdermanagement and presentation skills; ability to lead crossfunctional workstreams and provide concise status briefings
- Experience mentoring junior engineers and fostering a culture of cyber hygiene
- Preferred additional certifications: CISA, CCSP, or DoDspecific 8570.01M IA/IAC/IAE credentials
- Ability to obtain and maintain higherlevel clearance (TopSecret/SCI) if required for future mission phases

SRC IS A CONTRACTOR FOR THE U.S. GOVERNMENT, THIS POSITION WILL REQUIRE U.S. CITIZENSHIP AS WELL AS, A U.S. GOVERNMENT SECURITY CLEARANCE AT THE TOP SECRET LEVEL WITH TOP SECRET / SCI ELIGIBILITY
Travel Requirements
- Domestic travel up to10% of the year (approximately two weeks) for site visits, security assessments, or briefings at other DoD locations
- International travel is infrequent, typically less than5% of the year, only when needed for coordination with overseas partners and subject to clearance approval
