Job Summary
Under the supervision of the Acquisitions & Access Services Librarian, the Access Services Coordinator tracks the library services of Circulation, Interlibrary Loan (ILL), and physical Course Reserves. Assists the Service On Site (SOS) team at the Information Desks with library-related processes and troubleshooting. Follows established policies and practices in conjunction with applying general library knowledge in completing assigned tasks.

Responsibilities

Tracks hold and delivery requests for campus libraries’ and ILL items daily.

Performs book-drop retrievals and reshelving of library materials daily; organizes and maintains the library materials in the Course Reserves room, including the Reserve shelves, the Hold shelf, and electronics charging cords.

Processes and maintains physical Course Reserves items; serves as a liaison between patrons, library staff/management, and library faculty; tracks and reconciles overdue and lost items.

Resolves or triages SOS inquiries, patron inquiries, and Circulation-related issues.

Coordinates with counterpart libraries (Marriott Library, Eccles Health Science Library, McKay Music Library) to provide campus delivery service; creates hold/delivery requests for Law faculty and delivers items to faculty mailboxes.

Cares for physical library materials and identifies and reports problems.

Interlibrary Loan (ILL) Duties

Tracks ILL requests with ILLiad and Alma.

Processes ILL requests by verifying ownership of requested materials, sends out ILL requests for materials not owned by Faust Law Library, and receives and returns materials from/to other libraries.

Reconciles overdue ILL items and creates invoices for borrowing libraries.

Other Duties

Maintains the Library Bulletin Board to promote library collections, services, events, or databases weekly.

Maintains the Faculty Publication in the Display Case and the Dean’s Suite; updates/rotates monthly.

Assists and collaborates with the Acquisitions & Access Services Librarian with collection-related tasks.

Maintains good communication with the SOS team members and their supervisor; coordinates with the SOS team supervisor as needed.

Participates in SOS training to provide basic library training.

Maintains and updates documentation related to assigned duties.

Takes Reference shifts as needed.

Other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements
Nearly continuously: sitting, hearing, listening, talking. Often: repetitive hand motion (such as typing), walking. Seldom: bending, reaching overhead.

Minimum Qualifications
Two years library, data entry, clerical or related experience required (or equivalency). Demonstrated human relations and effective communication skills are also required. Familiarity with a foreign language may be preferred in some areas. Applicants must demonstrate the potential ability to perform the essential functions of the job as outlined in the position description.

Preferences

Detail-oriented, organized, collaborative, and self-motivated.

Ability to communicate and coordinate work with others and establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department and beyond.

Experience using library systems such as Alma, Primo, and ILLiad.

Knowledge of library operations, collection and management practices, and the Library of Congress classification system.

Basic skills in Microsoft Outlook, Teams, Word, and Excel.

Experience at an academic library.

Experience in customer service.
