Job Summary: The Inventory Specialist primary responsibility is to work with the Inventory Manager in keeping track of inventory via cycle counting, variance research, and other related tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Learn company products, procedures, culture, and customer service philosophy.
- Provide the highest level of customer service to all customers.
- Check accuracy of materials according to the list of materials on the sales invoice.
- Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, working with salespeople, customers, yard manager and drivers to ensure the timely, accurate delivery of materials to jobsites.
- Perform cycle counts, returns processing, and other items under the supervision of inventory manager.
- Safely drive trucks and forklifts obeying all traffic laws, wear seatbelt at all times while driving a company truck or forklift.
- Follow yard loading and delivery procedures.
- Accurately record all merchandise returns on a credit memo. Including the verification of returns brought back to yard by drivers.
- Loading of customer merchandise.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Desired Skills, Knowledge, and Qualifications:
- High school diploma required.
- Desire to learn and grow professionally.
- Ability to react quickly to problems and respond to them accurately and professionally.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to stand/walk for 4 -10 hours daily.
- Physical strength to lift and carry 50 pounds.
- Ability to operate a computer and calculator.
- Ability to stoop, kneel and crouch.
- Must have a positive and energetic attitude.
- Good organizational skills in order to take charge of organizing inventory and improving the efficiency of the selection and shipping process.
