Assistant Store Manager

Were seeking an Assistant Retail Manager to support daily operations at our Waterville Adult Use Cannabis dispensary. This key leadership role partners with the Retail Manager to guide the team, coach Retail Associates, maintain compliance with Maine Adult Use program regulations, and deliver an exceptional customer experience. The Assistant Retail Manager also serves as the acting store leader when the Retail Manager is off-site.

Key Responsibilities:

• Open and close the retail store following ECCs standard procedures.


• Assist Retail Associates with customer interactions, transaction processing, and high-touch service.


• Maintain a clean, organized, and visually appealing store, coaching team members as needed.


• Receive, verify, and manage inventory from cannabis and non-cannabis vendors, including daily counts and reconciliation.


• Assist the Retail Manager with performance reviews, coaching, and corrective actions.


• Share expert knowledge of cannabis products, industry trends, regulations, and ECC brand standards.


• Merchandise and zone store inventory to maintain brand aesthetics.


• Perform general cash handling and register management.


• Follow ECC security protocols and maintain a safe environment.


• Update in-house menus, displays, and literature as needed.

Schedule & Availability

Our dispensary is open 8:00 AM 9:00 PM, seven days a week.

This role requires a flexible schedule, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Weekend availability is essential.

Salary

$22 USD per hour

Required Skills

• Minimum of 3 years customer service experience; retail, sales, experience required.


• Cannabis industry experience preferred.


• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.


• Strong leadership, multitasking, critical thinking, and coaching skills.


• Ability to articulate product specifications and use retail sales techniques.


• Ability to work towards staged sales goals in a fast-paced environment while maintaining compliance.


• Outgoing, friendly, and team-oriented personality.


• Must be 21 years or older.


• Must be able to obtain an IIC


• Must be able to stand for long shifts and lift up to 50 lbs.

Desired Skills

• Cannabis experience preferred.
• Experience working in a retail environment with inventory including some sort of regulated product (e.g., alcohol, pharmaceuticals, perishables, etc).
