Overview Hamady Middle/High School is seeking a passionate and qualified Music Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will inspire students through engaging instruction in vocal and instrumental music, fostering creativity, discipline, and a lifelong appreciation for the arts.
Music Teacher - Full Time Minimum Qualifications Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate with a Music (JX or JQ) endorsement
Completion of an approved teacher preparation program
Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited institution
Successful completion of the Michigan Test for Teacher Certification (MTTC) in Music
Completion of required reading coursework (3 semester credit hours for secondary level)
Documented clinical experience, including student teaching
Preferred Qualifications Experience teaching music at the middle and/or high school level
Proficiency in both vocal and instrumental instruction
Ability to organize and lead performances, concerts, and extracurricular music activities
Strong classroom management and communication skills
Commitment to culturally responsive teaching and inclusive practices
Responsibilities Deliver standards-based instruction in music theory, performance, and appreciation
Develop lesson plans that align with Michigan curriculum standards
Assess student progress and provide timely feedback
Collaborate with colleagues to support interdisciplinary learning
Maintain a safe, respectful, and engaging classroom environment
Participate in school events, professional development, and parent communication
