Job Summary: MACS is seeking a specialist teacher to teach music education in a unique K-8 MicroSociety themed charter school. MACS currently has 400 students and is in the middle of an expansion and are looking to fill this position full time.

Primary Responsibilities:

Plan, prepare and deliver instructional activities

Create a positive classroom climate in which students can learn

Grade students according to school report card procedures

Communicate clearly classroom goals, learning objectives, and student progress

Develop curricula projects that reflect the diverse educational, cultural, and linguistic backgrounds of the students served

Manage student behavior in the classroom

Perform other related duties as requested by the School’s Head of School

Qualifications:

A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university within respective specialty curricula field preferred.

New Hampshire teacher certification or evidence of eligibility or progress toward teacher certification will be given preference

Previous experience teaching or working with K-8 students is preferred.

Demonstrated work or business experience (i.e. performance, exhibition, coaching/tutoring) in respective curricula field.

Experienced at differentiating instruction, especially for students with a wide-range of abilities

Willingness to commit to the success of MACS’s students, and to MACS’s mission, and collaborate with faculty as a member of a dynamic instructional team

Keep administration updated regularly on their needs in order to maximize student achievement

Model lifelong learning and personal growth

Candidate agrees to submit to a Criminal Background Records and Fingerprinting Check and a physical
