Position Type: Full‑Time/Exempt
Performs a variety of technical, computer, and clerical tasks to provide audiovisual and technical services to the library. Responsibilities include operating and maintaining automated booking catalogs, demonstrating use of audiovisual equipment, managing inventory, tracking loaned equipment and materials, and supporting curriculum and instruction resources.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities
Operate and maintain specialized audiovisual computer booking and catalog programs.
Loan audiovisual equipment and materials to teachers.
Maintain files of requests and distribution of audiovisual equipment and materials.
Demonstrate setup and operation of audiovisual equipment and materials.
Inspect loaned equipment for maintenance and repair.
Distribute teachers’ guides, catalogs, and instructional support material.
Provide clerical and technical support for the library.
Assist with telephone and email inquiries.
Perform related work to assist with Library Media Services as needed.
Carry out general library duties, including processing new materials, cataloging, checking in/out, shelving, weeding, mending, and receiving fines for overdue items.
Handle general office and administrative duties such as answering telephone, typing documents, copying, filing, and attending meetings.
Perform related duties as required.
Essential Functions
Physical Requirements: Ability to exert light physical effort, including lifting up to 10 pounds and extended periods at a keyboard or workstation.
Data Conception: Ability to compare and judge functional, structural, or compositional characteristics of data and objects.
Interpersonal Communications: Ability to sign or speak with clarity, receive assignments, and follow directions.
Language Ability: Reading policies, manuals, and reference materials; entering data and preparing reports with proper language use; speaking with poise and confidence.
Intelligence: Applying common sense to follow instructions, solve problems, make routine independent judgments, and understand basic office machinery.
Verbal Aptitude: Recording and delivering information; explaining procedures; communicating with audiences of varying backgrounds.
Numerical Aptitude: Performing basic arithmetic, percentages, ratios, and time calculations.
Form/Spatial Aptitude: Inspecting items for dimensions and reading information visually.
Motor Coordination: Coordinating hand and eye movement with office machinery.
Manual Dexterity: Handling keyboards, equipment, and controls with minimal eye/hand/foot coordination.
Color Discrimination: Not required.
Interpersonal Temperament: Managing people, adapting under stress, and handling emergency or tight deadline situations.
Physical Communications: Ability to talk and hear appropriately.
Training and Experience
High school diploma plus clerical and technical training with 1–2 years of experience, or an equivalent combination of training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
