
Design Intern

Overview We are seeking a creative, motivated Design Intern to support our marketing and creative initiatives. This role is ideal for someone with a strong foundation in the Adobe Creative Suite, hands-on experience with video production tools, and familiarity with Canva and emerging AI-powered design tools. The intern will collaborate closely with our creative and marketing teams to produce engaging visual content—particularly for social media and digital platforms. This position will be remote located in the DC, MD, and VA area.
Responsibilities Assist in the creation of visual assets for digital marketing, including social media graphics, shortform videos, presentations, and promotional materials
Edit and produce video content for social media, websites, and campaigns using industry-standard tools
Design graphics and templates using Adobe Creative Suite and Canva
Support social media efforts by creating on-brand visuals optimized for various platforms (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, TikTok, etc.)
Collaborate with team members to brainstorm and execute creative concepts
Utilize AI-powered design tools to enhance workflows, generate concepts, and improve efficiency
Ensure all creative assets align with brand guidelines and messaging
Assist with basic motion graphics, animations, or video captions as needed
Manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Qualifications Required Skills and Experience
Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, Marketing, Film/Video Production, or a related field
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign; After Effects and Premiere Pro strongly preferred)
Experience with video production and editing tools, including cutting, color correction, audio syncing, and exporting for social platforms
Working knowledge of Canva for creating and adapting branded content
Familiarity with AI design-oriented tools (e.g., generative design, AI-assisted video, image generation, or editing tools)
Understanding of social media platforms and best practices for visual content
Strong attention to detail and a good eye for design, layout, and typography
Ability to take direction, accept feedback, and apply revisions efficiently
Preferred Skills and Experience
Experience creating short-form video content (Reels, Shorts, TikToks)
Basic knowledge of motion graphics or animation
Photography or videography experience
Familiarity with content scheduling or social media management tools
Strong organizational and time-management skills

Posted Pay Range
The posted pay range, if referenced, reflects the range expected for this position at the commencement of employment, however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, education, experience, and internal equity. The total compensation package for this position may also include other compensation elements, to be discussed during the hiring process.
