Westmoreland Mechanical Testing & Research is looking to fill our Machinist role. Experienced and entry level machine operators are welcome to apply. In this position you will produce test specimens that correlate with customer specifications and blueprints. We operate machinery such as saws, manual mills, CNC mills/lathes, and waterjets. The materials we machine and test are commonly used in commercial aircrafts, national defense applications, rockets, and many more everyday items. Looking to fill evening, night, and weekend shifts. Must be able to train during daylight hours before transitioning to another shift. Pay is based on experience (CNC programming experience preferred).

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
View drawings and blueprints to understand what dimensions the materials need to be cut/shaped into
Think creatively to determine the most effective and efficient way to cut the material into the desired shape and size
Select the proper materials and tools to get the job done, such as calipers, drills and mills
Set up and program the cutting machines to make the part, using CAD and CNC software
Inspect finished product to ensure accuracy
Performs other duties and tasks as assigned
Qualifications and Skills:
US Citizenship required
High school diploma or GED required
Mechanically inclined individuals preferred
CNC operation/programming experience preferred
Auto CAD experience preferred
Experience working with and understanding blueprints preferred
Fundamental understanding of M and G codes
Strong mechanical aptitude
Strong analytical skills
Strong attention to detail
Strong organizational skills
Strong time management skills
The ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. in a physical environment
Ability to stand, sit, or move around for prolonged periods of time
