CNC Machine Operator
Job Summary
The CNC Machine Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining computer numerical control (CNC) machines to produce high-quality precision parts according to engineering blueprints and specifications.
Job Duties
Set up and operate CNC machines (e.g., mills, lathes, routers, grinders) according to job orders and engineering drawings.
Load raw materials and verify correct tooling, fixtures, and offsets.
Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and GD&T symbols.
Monitor machine operations, make adjustments, and perform tool changes as needed.
Inspect finished parts using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other precision measuring instruments.
Maintain accurate production records, including setup sheets and quality documentation.
Perform routine machine maintenance and report mechanical issues promptly.
Follow all safety protocols, lockout/tagout procedures, and workplace guidelines.
Collaborate with engineers, supervisors, and quality control personnel to resolve production issues.
Identify opportunities to improve machining processes and reduce waste.
Adhere to 5S standards (e.g., maintain cleanliness of work area, etc.)
Perform other duties as assigned
Experience and Education
High school diploma or GED; technical certification or trade school training preferred.
2+ years of CNC machining experience in a manufacturing or metalworking environment.
Proficiency in reading blueprints and understanding machining principles.
Experience operating CNC machines (HAAS SL-30, HAAS TL-3, Samsung SL25004 and/or Hurco VM20i a plus, or similar controls)
Ability to use precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, height gauges).
Basic understanding of G-code and machine programming concepts (a plus).
Intermediate verbal and written communication skills
Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
Knowledge of CAD/CAM software
Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to identify and seek needed information/research skills
Detail oriented
Hourly Range
$25 - $28
