Restore Oakland Capital Campaign Manager
The Restore Oakland Capital Campaign Manager will lead Restore Oakland’s capital campaign fundraising efforts, which is now at 85% completion, as well as develop major gift donors through our naming opportunities program. Restore Oakland has 120+ opportunities and gift levels for donors to participate in naming spaces in the building for their favorite civil rights hero.
We are looking for someone who is an independent, self-starter who is excited to develop a major gifts program from these naming opportunities to support the long-term health and financial stability of this visionary project.
This position supports the Restore Oakland Capital Campaign, and is supervised by the Director of Development at the Ella Baker Center for Human Rights.
This position is funded for two years with the possibility of renewal after that term. Schedule will include some evenings and weekends as necessary.

Primary Responsibilities:
Campaign Coordination
Manage and facilitate campaign working groups, including institutional gifts and the Campaign Executive Send out agendas prior to the call and ensure timely follow up of tasks.
Coordinate foundation gifts Track pipeline and collaborate with development teams to submit applications.
Communicate campaign updates with development staff from ROC and EBC. Write and disseminate a weekly development team digest to share news about funds received and to provide a centralized communication space for feedback and campaign
Facilitate communication between muralist and EBC/ROC Support fundraising efforts in collaboration with artist.
Develop strategy for prospect research, cultivation, and successful solicitation for naming opportunities
Collaborate with prospective donors to determine best fit for name and room designation.
Track pledges and maintain updated prospects
Donor Engagement
Organize and lead building tours for prospective donors, collaborating with leadership at ROC and EBC to facilitate a successful donor
Develop and implement recognition plan for major gifts
Maintain open communication with donors and keep them abreast of exciting campaign developments.
Collaborate with existing groups of volunteer fundraisers to host events and house parties, and cultivate new volunteer fundraisers to support campaign
Grants, Writing, + Prospect Research/Management
Conduct ongoing prospect research and Provide some support scheduling EBC/ROC leadership for specific asks.
Write and submit grant proposals for funding opportunities identified by ROC and EBC development
Produce communications materials as needed for the campaign, including a regular impact report for all Restore Oakland
Manage post-capital campaign funder and report writing and
Supervise consultants on additional writing projects, including a case study of the capital campaign.
Required qualifications and skills:
Proven commitment to racial, economic, and gender
4 or more years of experience in fundraising, with significant experience in individual donor
3 or more years of volunteer management experience, preferably in a fundraising and/or campaign
History of working collaboratively with stakeholders (board members, volunteers, etc.) and coworkers while exercising individual leadership in meeting core job
Project management and/or campaign experience, including proven ability to successfully manage multiple time-sensitive
History of using CRM/database tools to successfully support donor
Salesforce experience strongly preferred.
Experience with prospect
Familiarity with online fundraising tools and peer to peer fundraising
Aptitude for quantitative and qualitative evaluation of fundraising
Preferred qualifications and skills:
Familiarity with criminal justice landscape in California and/or the Bay
Bilingual Spanish and English
Individuals of color, LGBTQ, individuals with past involvement in the justice system or who have loved ones currently or formerly in the justice system are strongly encouraged to apply.
Salary range: $60,000 - $70,000
