RWE Americas, LLC is seeking a Senior Director of Internal Communications to lead strategic internal communications across the organization. This senior leadership role will serve as a trusted advisor to executive and operating teams, ensuring consistent, high‑quality communication that reflects the company’s values and business priorities.
Role Responsibilities
Set strategic direction for internal communications and develop an enterprise‑wide strategy aligned with corporate vision and values.
Serve as a trusted strategic advisor to senior executives, guiding organizational planning, change communications, and employee engagement.
Build and mentor an internal communications team distributed across key U.S. geographies.
Oversee content strategy and storytelling, directing the planning, creation, and delivery of internal communications across email, video, live events, intranet, and internal social platforms.
Lead executive communications for the CEO and Executive Leadership Team, shaping high‑impact narratives, speeches, and presentations.
Provide strategic leadership and oversight to internal communications partners embedded across the business.
Design and optimize enterprise‑wide internal communication channels and engagement strategies.
Establish and enforce internal communications governance, standards, and best practices across all locations.
Direct planning and execution of enterprise‑level internal events such as town halls and leadership forums.
Lead the strategic development and international alignment of English‑language internal communications in partnership with Corporate and international colleagues.
Define and manage measurement frameworks to track engagement, channel performance, and impact metrics.
Stay ahead of emerging trends, technologies, and best practices in employee communications.
Job Requirements and Experiences
Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Advertising, Marketing, or related field.
Minimum 10 years of experience in internal communications, public relations, or corporate communications; 5 years in a leadership role at a large corporate organization.
Proven success in leading enterprise‑wide communications and strategies that drive culture, alignment, and performance.
Background in the renewable energy or broader energy sector preferred.
Deep understanding of employee experience, change management, and organizational development.
Exceptional storytelling and executive communications skills.
Collaborative leader with strong stakeholder and relationship‑building skills.
Excellent proficiency with Microsoft Office and Teams.
Strategic mindset, with proactive anticipation of change.
Strong organization skills and the ability to lead a team while managing multiple tasks and deliverables.
Motivated self‑starter, goal‑oriented, and problem‑solving abilities.
Ability to empathize, build relationships, and communicate effectively with a diverse set of backgrounds.
Responsive to direction, coachable, and detail‑oriented.
Office‑based role with approximately 20% travel and visits to other RWE offices and field locations.
Must be able to sit, walk, or stand for long durations of time.
