The Senior Internal Communications Manager is part of the Corporate Affairs team at RWE Americas.
Role Responsibilities
Lead and support the planning, preparation, and implementation of internal communications in line with RWE's communication strategy
Drive communications planning, storytelling, and employee engagement to strengthen clarity, alignment, and connection across the organization
Design, write, and manage internal communications—including sensitive, high‑profile, or crisis-related updates—ensuring accuracy, precision of tone, and alignment with executive and legal guidance
Support the development of speeches, presentations, executive messaging, and multi-channel content for senior leadership, partnering directly with top management
Serve as internal business partner and communications advisor to key corporate functions, providing counsel, content development, and communications planning to support their priorities
Lead enterprise-wide communications programs and campaigns from concept through execution, overseeing complex, interdisciplinary, and international initiatives
Use data-driven insights, analytics, and employee feedback to evaluate communications effectiveness and adjust strategy and messaging accordingly
Oversee content strategy and governance, quality management, and alignment across internal communication channels, ensuring high standards and consistent messaging
Oversee development of multimedia, intranet content, leadership videos, and other creative assets in partnership with creative, digital, or external teams
Organize and execute internal events such as town halls, lunch & learns, and other employee engagement activities
Proactively identify emerging risks, opportunities, and communication needs, ensuring leadership is prepared with timely and effective messaging
Mentor and guide junior and mid-level communicators, setting standards and elevating communication capabilities across the team
Job Requirements and Experiences
Relevant degree in Journalism, Marketing, Public Relations or Communications preferred
Minimum 8 years of relevant experience with energy topics preferred
Experience working in Internal Communications with excellent writing, editing and presentation skills required
Background and experience in creative storytelling preferred
Experience and expertise in employee engagement analytics
Expertise in Microsoft Office Suite required with proficiency in Teams, and experience with new and fresh internal communications approaches and tools
Experience in the management of complex projects (interdisciplinary and international) from conception to implementation of internal communication campaigns and measures
Collaborative and curious mindset, building relationships across the organization
Self‑Starter- able to work and prioritize activities with little oversight and direction
Highly organized with great attention to detail and the ability to multitask
Ability to pivot quickly and work in an international, fast‑paced, heavy deadline driven work environment
Willingness to travel (up to 20%)
This position is an office‑based role with some travel and visits to other RWE offices and field locations
Must be able to sit, walk, or stand for long durations of time
