Job Summary
The General Production position supports plant operations by performing production duties with emphasis on safety, quality, productivity, cost control, and customer satisfaction. The incumbent ensures safety, quality, productivity, cost control, and customer satisfaction are maintained at high levels.
Primary Functions and Duties
Maintains a safe and clean working environment; observes and follows all safety policies; wears appropriate PPE; completes required safety training as needed.
Maintains safe and orderly storage by arranging materials, products, and equipment as required.
Practices good housekeeping (sweeping, wiping, mopping, trash disposal); keeps work area clean, neat, and well organized (returning items to proper locations).
Ensures product is organized, stacked, and stored in accordance with the facilities inventory process.
Immediately notifies line operator, line leads, and management of quality issues; ensures finished product meets basic quality standards (e.g., hoses are clean, neatly packaged, and correctly crimped).
Takes ownership to ensure products produced meet quality standards and are built according to the product specification sheet.
Verifies all components are correct per specification (e.g., verification processes for backdrops, brass pieces, ties).
Demonstrates the ability to coil hoses manually and with automated equipment.
Maintains and stocks the table area on the auto coiler.
Ensures appropriate materials are readily available prior to running production.
Loads backdrops into the auto coiler as needed in accordance with site safety procedures.
Clears loose scrap and obstructed hose from the auto-coiler near the exiting conveyor per safety procedures.
Inserts ends and ensures all products are crimped in accordance with quality standards.
Meets and exceeds all pallets produced (per hour) goals.
Identifies and resets minor errors displayed on the auto-coiler screen; notes GP access levels and notifies maintenance if automated machines require resets more than three times in a 60-minute interval.
Packages product accurately, timely, and safely.
Required Qualifications
High School diploma or equivalent.
1-3 years experience in a manufacturing environment (preferred).
Basic computer skills (e.g., Microsoft Office) (preferred).
Strong attention to detail.
Good verbal and written communication skills.
Effective math and reading skills.
Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Organizational skills; ability to work with little supervision.
