
Part-time Seasonal Assistant Pool Manager

Description
Washington Golf & Country Club (WGCC) is a private, family-oriented club located in Arlington, Virginia. We are seeking a reliable, safety-focused Seasonal Assistant Pool Manager to support daily aquatics operations throughout the pool season on a part-time basis.
Under the supervision of the Pool Manager and Director of Aquatics, responsible for the management of the pool in a manner that is most pleasing to members and their guests while ensuring a high standard of appearance, hospitality and service in personnel and cleanliness of pool.
Responsibilities
Supervise and run the pool with the highest level of customer service
Provide on stand swimmer observation as needed to ensure the safety of all patrons
Schedule personnel based upon anticipated member and guest pool usage
Inspect pool employees to ensure that they are in proper and clean uniforms at all times
Provide appropriate reports concerning employee hours, schedules, pay rates and job changes to Accounting
Manage operation of pool, cleanliness of deck and bathroom, and stocking of towels
Serve as a liaison between the pool patrons and the Club and work to resolve any issues as they arise
Ensure that all revenues are processed through the Club’s accounting system
Ensure that all local and state laws and the Club’s policies and procedures for the operation and pool are consistently followed
Coordinate set-up and take-down of swim and dive meets, including judges’/workers’ table, swim/dive team areas
Ensure operation of PA system
Ensure that the pool is opened and closed daily at the posted times
Communicate essential pool information through emails and postings, including expected (special events) and unexpected (weather/accidents) closings
Help develop and run a swim lesson program for regular members (non-swim team members) of the Club
Other duties as assigned
Requirements
Must be at least 16 years of age
Experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified
Must have current Red Cross Lifeguard, First Aid and CPR certifications
Or any similar combination of education and experience
Ability to manage team of high school and college students and handle sporadic stressful situations in a cool manner
Ability to manage 16-22 year olds
Demonstrated strong oral and written communication skills to a wide variety of constituents Demonstrated organization and coordination skills and ability to meet deadlines and multi-task
Ability to maintain quality and safety standards and coordinate quality assurance programs in areas of responsibility
Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations
Excellent interpersonal/relationship-building skills
Proven record of providing excellent internal and external customer service
Physical Demands and Work Environment
Must be able to dial, collate, file, open/close, sort, stamp, staple, fold/unfold and insert/remove
Must be able to handle hot and cold interior and exterior conditions (sometimes hot and wet environment) and exposure to dust, fumes or gases
Must be able to work in close proximity to moving machinery
