Job Description
The Grant Writer and Assessment Coordinator is responsible for identifying, developing, and managing grant opportunities that support district initiatives while also coordinating the district’s comprehensive assessment program. This position ensures alignment between instructional goals, funding opportunities, and data-driven decision making to improve student achievement and organizational effectiveness.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Grant Writing and Grant Management

Research and identify federal, state, and private grant opportunities aligned with district priorities.

Write, edit, and submit competitive grant proposals on behalf of the district.

Collaborate with district leaders, principals, and program directors to develop grant-funded initiatives.

Prepare required grant budgets, narratives, and supporting documentation.

Ensure compliance with grant guidelines, timelines, and reporting requirements.

Monitor implementation of grant-funded programs and assist departments with grant management.

Prepare and submit required progress and final reports to funding agencies.

Maintain a district-wide grant calendar and tracking system.

Build partnerships with community organizations, foundations, and agencies to support grant initiatives.

Assessment Coordination

Coordinate with the Assistant Superintendent over Curriculum, Instruction and Assessment to facilitate the administration of all state and district assessments.

Ensure compliance with state testing regulations and procedures.

Develop district assessment schedules and provide guidance to schools.

Train school testing coordinators and staff on assessment procedures and security.

Analyze and interpret student performance data from local and state assessments.

Assist administrators and teachers in using assessment data to inform instruction and intervention.

Prepare district assessment reports and presentations for leadership, board members, and staff.

Maintain secure handling and storage of assessment materials.

Support district improvement planning through data analysis and reporting.

Collaboration and Leadership

Work collaboratively with district and school leadership teams to support instructional improvement.

Participate in district strategic planning and accountability processes.

Provide professional development related to data analysis and assessment literacy.

Assist in aligning grant-funded programs with district improvement goals.

Support compliance with state and federal accountability systems.

Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree required; Masters degree preferred.

Experience: Experience in grant writing, data analysis, or educational assessment preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Strong writing, editing, and proposal development skills

Knowledge of federal and state education grants

Understanding of state and district assessment systems

Ability to analyze and interpret student achievement data

Strong organizational and project management skills

Ability to collaborate effectively with multiple stakeholders

Proficiency with data systems, spreadsheets, and reporting tools

Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines

Working Conditions
Primarily office-based with periodic visits to district schools.

Occasional evening meetings for board presentations or grant events.

May require travel for grant-related meetings or training.
