Position Overview
GTI Energy is seeking a Manufacturing Manager – Welding to lead welding operations across multiple production lines and shifts. The Manufacturing Manager will oversee Manufacturing Supervisors and Production Supervisors while driving performance across welding, fabrication, and robotic welding operations. This Manufacturing Manager role is responsible for scaling welding operations, improving throughput, maintaining quality, and ensuring on‑time delivery in a contract manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
Manufacturing Operations & Welding Leadership
Lead welding operations as a Manufacturing Manager across multiple Manufacturing Supervisors and Production Supervisors
Oversee manual welding, robotic welding, and fabrication processes across production lines
Ensure production aligns with on‑time delivery, on‑time release, and throughput KPIs
Manage execution of fabrication schedules and BOM‑driven production
Lean Manufacturing & Continuous Improvement
Drive Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, 5S, and Kaizen initiatives across welding operations
Apply Six Sigma, Root Cause Analysis, 5 Whys, and Fishbone methodologies to eliminate defects and improve processes
Improve weld quality, reduce rework, and increase throughput
Scale best practices across welding teams and automated welding environments
KPI & Performance Management
Own KPIs including throughput, inventory turns, weld quality, rework, safety, and on‑time delivery
Ensure ISO9001 compliance across welding and fabrication processes
Drive performance improvements across quality, efficiency, and cost
Leadership & Organizational Development
Lead and develop Welding Supervisors, Production Supervisors, and fabrication teams
Build a high‑performance culture within a contract manufacturing environment
Support workforce development including welding certifications and skill advancement
Required Qualifications
7–12 years of experience as a Manufacturing Manager, Production Manager, or Welding Manager
Experience in contract manufacturing or industrial manufacturing
Strong background in welding, fabrication, and automated welding systems
Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, and Six Sigma
Preferred Qualifications
Engineering or fabrication background (mechanical or industrial)
Experience with robotic welding systems and automation
Certified welder or welding engineer preferred
