Adams & Martin Group is seeking a detail‑oriented and compassionate Family Law Paralegal in Kanas City, MO. Ideal candidates will have demonstrated experience delivering high‑quality legal services to clients navigating sensitive family‑related matters. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, excellent communication abilities, and experience working within a family law practice.
Title: Paralegal
Type: Direct Hire/Permanent (100% on-site)
Compensation: $50,000 - $55,000 annual - FLEXIBLE UPON EXPERIENCE
Key Responsibilities
Assist attorneys in managing family law cases from intake through resolution.
Conduct initial client interviews and gather relevant case information.
Maintain organized case files, calendars, and deadlines.
Serve as a professional, empathetic point of contact for clients.
Draft and prepare pleadings, motions, affidavits, discovery documents, and correspondence.
Prepare financial statements, child support worksheets, and case summaries.
Organize trial binders, exhibits, and presentation materials for hearings and mediations.
Conduct legal research on family law statutes, case law, and court rules.
Assist with fact‑gathering, including obtaining records, financial documentation, and other evidence.
File documents with the court (electronically and in person, as required).
Coordinate service of process, depositions, and expert witness communications.
Support attorneys in trial preparation, hearings, and settlement conferences.
Qualifications
2-5 years of experience as a paralegal, preferably in family law.
Strong understanding of family court procedures and legal terminology.
Proficiency in case management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Exceptional writing, proofreading, and organizational skills.
Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to support clients during emotionally challenging situations.
Paralegal certificate or equivalent experience preferred.
