Production Supervisor

System76 is looking for a hands-on Production Supervisor to lead and work alongside our production crew in crafting open hardware computers and keyboards. This is not a desk job you will be on the floor every day, contributing directly to the build process while guiding, supporting, and developing your team.You are an experienced craftsperson who leads by example. You take pride in your work, hold high standards, and know how to bring out the best in the people around you. You are passionate about open hardware and eager to help shape the future of computing in a meaningful, tangible way.Key ResponsibilitiesBuilding open hardware computer chassis and keyboards alongside your teamUsing pneumatic and power tools, lasers, mills, brakes, and moreCombining parts using jigs and build guidesSupervising, mentoring, and developing production staff on technique, safety, and quality standardsAssigning daily tasks and managing workflow to meet production goalsConducting or assisting with quality checks as parts move from the Production team to the Assembly teamIdentifying and resolving production bottlenecks or personnel issues in a timely mannerMaintaining a perfectly clean and safe work environment and enforcing safety protocolsCommunicating clearly and professionally with both staff and managementParticipating in hiring, onboarding, and performance evaluations of production team membersOther duties as assignedRequired Skills and ExperiencePrior experience in a manufacturing, fabrication, or production environmentDemonstrated leadership or supervisory experience, formal or informalAbility to lead with patience, clarity, and a team-first attitudeStrong communication and conflict resolution skillsExcellent hand-eye coordination and dexterityMust enjoy teamwork, mentoring others, variety, and working with your handsUnderstanding that safety is paramount for yourself and your teamAble to lift, push, pull, and move up to 50 poundsAble to stand for long periods and work at production paceAble to work quickly and efficiently while maintaining top qualityBonus QualificationsExperience with 3D printersExperience with millsExperience with lasersExperience in a technology hardware or electronics manufacturing environmentAbout System76System76 is the leading provider of Pop!_OS & Ubuntu laptops, desktops, and servers, and a champion of the open source community.
