Overview
Visitor Experience Communications Specialist (VECS) – The Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden is looking for enthusiastic individuals who want to make a difference by creating genuine moments with visitors and members. The Visitor Experience team engages with guests daily, providing information to enhance visits via phone, email, or in person, and addressing questions or concerns about visit feedback.

Job Responsibilities
Provide the best possible experience for all visitors via phone, email, survey, social media reviews, or in-person communication
Become familiar with membership levels, ticket packages, and other guest engagement opportunities to provide tailored information and maximize zoo visits
Accurately process membership and ticket transactions
Follow data entry protocols to maintain an accurate and concise member database
Answer phone calls and emails regarding memberships, ticket sales/exchanges, and general Zoo questions to inform visitors and address concerns
Ensure consistent communication with the Visitor Experience team
Stay up to date on processes and communicate changes or inefficiencies
Review, organize, and fulfill appropriate donation requests
Receive, track, organize, and appropriately handle Lost & Found items
Track, sort, and deliver data requests as necessary
Assess and resolve concerns related to Digital Pass Portal maintenance
Assist Onsite Ticketing Operations by covering breaks, managing inventories, updating logs, and supporting daily needs
Note: Employees in this position are expected to sit for a majority of the shift but may move around the Zoo, including front-line locations
Key Details
Employment is seasonal
on-benefited; hours vary between 15–30 hours per week per season, not exceeding an annual average of 30 hours per week
Pay rate: $14.75/hour
Flexible availability preferred; minimum of one full weekend day plus 3–4 full weekdays; Sundays availability preferred
Shift times vary 8am–11pm; availability 9:30am–5:00pm preferred
Candidates must be at least 18 years of age on the date of application
Previous POS system experience preferred; proficiency with Gateway Ticketing and Member Pass Portal systems
Previous call center and/or data entry experience preferred
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite preferred
Employment contingent upon passing post-offer, pre-employment drug screen and background check
