About the Role
Were seeking an experienced Medical Secretary with a strong background in surgical scheduling to support a high-performing clinical team. This role is critical in ensuring seamless coordination of surgical casesfrom initial scheduling through post-operative follow-upwith a heavy focus on orthopedic procedures.
Youll act as a central point of communication between physicians, hospitals, and patients, helping deliver a smooth, organized surgical experience.
What Youll Do
Coordinate and schedule surgical procedures, with a focus on orthopedic cases (e.g., hip and shoulder replacements)
Serve as the primary liaison between physicians, hospital surgical teams, and patients
Manage provider calendars, block time, and case scheduling logistics
Coordinate pre-op and post-op appointments, testing, and clearances
Ensure all required documentation is complete and submitted prior to procedures
Upload, track, and maintain patient records and surgical documentation within the EMR
Proactively communicate updates, changes, and instructions to all stakeholders
What Were Looking For
2+ years of surgical scheduling experience (orthopedics strongly preferred)
Strong understanding of hospital systems, surgical workflows, and case coordination
Experience with Epic or similar EMR platforms
Excellent communication skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
Highly organized and detail-oriented in a fast-paced environment
Comfortable working with an older patient population
Ability to float between nearby office locations as needed
