Together, we are building a better world, so we can all enjoy living in it.Mechanical Design Engineer · Responsible for the mechanical design of package upgrades and retrofits. · Collaborate with various engineering, fabrication, assembly operations, logistics, and field installation personnel to ensure that project designs are high quality, safe, and cost-effective. · Independently gathering and analyzing relevant data and defining project issues in engineering terms with minimal technical direction. · Facilitation of design reviews with peers and team members are also expected.Minimum Qualifications: · Currently in the process of receiving or have already received a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or other relevant degree · 1-3 years of relevant experience · Previous related work experience Preferred Qualifications: · Experience with turbomachinery products (gas turbines, centrifugal compressors, generators/alternators, etc.) · Experience with 3D CAD programs for mechanical design (PTC Creo or Dassault Systems SolidWorks) · Experience with 2D CAD programs for electrical design (Bentley System Promis-e, AutoCAD, etc.) · Experience with PLC (programmable logic controller) software · Ability to write and communicate ideas clearly · Ability to work well with others, team spirit, and flexibility with personal schedule to meet deadlines · A sense of urgency and organizational skills are also required to work with multiple projects and competing priorities.**Posting Dates:**April 22, 2026 - May 3, 2026Caterpillar is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
