Full-Stack Web Application Developer
Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated full-stack web application developer (contract) with exceptional programming skills to join Vaccines R&D in Pearl River, NY, contributing to the research efforts for various vaccine research programs.
This individual will join as a member of Next-gen. Sequencing / Data Science to support scientific web application development projects. You will be actively coding to deliver scientific application platforms for diverse viral and bacterial vaccine research projects. You will be in the project meetings to present, communicate, and collect feedback to improve the products. A successful candidate will be passionate about problem-solving, full-stack application development, and process automation to provide easy-to-use computational tools and large-scale database platforms.
Additionally, this role involves exposure to AI/ML knowledge and the integration of AI/ML components into web applications. The ideal candidate should be willing and enthusiastic about incorporating AI/ML techniques to enhance the functionality and efficiency of the web applications. Your significant experiences in relevant principles, concepts, and practices will make you a critical member of the team. You are proactive in contributing to the team discussions and creating an environment of collaboration. It is your hard work and focus that will help make Pfizer ready to achieve new milestones and help patients across the globe.
This is a contract position with a strong potential for extensions and conversion to a full-time position depending on performances and availability.
Responsibilities:
Build and maintain web applications in Django framework
Write well-structured, clean, and maintainable code with clear comments and documentation
Implementing the applications and bug fixes in a timely manner
Develop code that demonstrates best practices and follows industry standards
Integrate cutting-edge AI/ML tools into the web application
Minimum Qualifications:
A minimum of 2+ years of experience in Django framework
Strong coding skills in Python
Experience with SQL and MongoDB
Ability to write clean, efficient, and maintainable code
Proficient in AI/ML workflows and concepts
Basic understanding of biological molecules, such as DNA, RNA, and proteins
Excellent task planning, problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
Preferred Qualifications:
Having a working example of a Django-based web application
Experience in bioinformatics and data analysis
Experience in AI/ML
Schedule/Location:
This is a hybrid role in Pearl River, NY; candidates must be local for occasional onsite meetings
Monday - Friday; 40 hours per week

The pay rate range provided is a reasonable estimate of the anticipated compensation range for this job at the time of posting. The actual pay rate will be based on a number of factors, including skills, competencies, experience, location and/or being pursued and other job-related factors permitted by law. In addition, this role will be eligible for overtime pay, in accordance with federal and state requirements.
