Inventory Control Specialist
We are seeking a detail-oriented Inventory Control Specialist to manage accurate inventory records within a temperature-controlled warehouse. This role requires strong organizational skills, equipment operation experience, and the ability to work in a physically demanding cold storage environment.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain accurate inventory using WMS and RF scanning systems
Perform cycle counts and full inventory audits
Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies
Operate forklifts to move, store, and organize inventory safely
Stack, move, and handle cases weighing up to 80 lbs or more
Monitor product rotation (FIFO/FEFO) and track lot numbers and expiration dates
Coordinate with receiving, shipping, and warehouse teams
Generate inventory and variance reports using Microsoft Office tools
Ensure compliance with safety, food handling, and cold chain standards
Work Environment
Temperature ranges from 35F to -10F
Requires use of PPE (freezer suits, gloves, etc.)
Physically demanding role involving lifting, stacking, bending, and standing for long periods
Qualifications
Required:
High school diploma or equivalent
13 years of inventory or warehouse experience
Forklift operation experience (certification preferred or required)
Ability to lift and stack 80+ lbs regularly
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)
High attention to detail and accuracy
Preferred:
Experience in cold storage or food distribution
Familiarity with WMS systems (SAP, Oracle, Manhattan, etc.)
Knowledge of inventory control procedures (FIFO/FEFO)
Skills
