DF SUM AY25/26 Fitness Center Attendant
The Fitness Center Attendant is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for all users. This includes providing excellent customer service, enforcing facility policies, and managing daily operations such as front desk check-ins, equipment checkout, and space oversight. A major focus of the role is completing regular cleaning and maintenance tasks across all areas of the fitness center. The position also requires strong communication with coworkers, supervisors, and campus partners to ensure smooth operations. Attendants must be reliable team players who can respond to emergencies, support patrons, and contribute to a positive and inclusive campus recreation experience.
Provide exceptional customer service to all patrons to cultivate an inclusive, welcoming, and positive environment
Supervise all visitors by consistently enforcing policies and procedures to ensure a safe and respectful facility
Manage the cleaning and overall maintenance of the Fitness Center by completing and documenting hourly, daily, and monthly cleaning checklists, while proactively addressing additional cleaning needs as they arise
Maintain clear, consistent communication with coworkers and supervisors, and communicate and coordinate with other departments (e.g., Outdoor Adventure Program and Bike & Ski Shop) to support seamless customer service
Monitor all front desk operations, including documenting user counts, managing gear check-in/check-out, and ensuring accurate check-in of all visitors
Oversee and maintain all Coors Fitness Center spaces, including the Wellness Room, locker rooms, laundry room, hallways, and breakout rooms, ensuring all areas are clean, organized, and fully operational
Support patrons by responding to emergencies, injuries, and evacuations by contacting Campus Safety, initiating the emergency action plan, and following all University guidelines

Communicate effectively and professionally with coworkers and supervisors to ensure smooth daily operations and strong team collaboration
Perform all job duties with minimal supervision while following directions and established protocols
Actively support team operations by assisting with shift coverage and contributing to a collaborative work environment
Utilize conflict resolution skills when working with patrons and fellow employees
Demonstrate proficiency with computers and mobile applications, including Microsoft Office, Canva, When2Work, GroupMe, and other communication tools
Minimum Requirements:
Must have prior experience working at the Fitness Center during the 202 5 -202 6 school year.
Preferred Qualifications (Nice to have, but not required):
Certified First Aid/CPR/AED and Bloodborne Pathogens. American Heart Association, American Red Cross, Etc. Can be obtained after hire. If recertification is necessary, this can be scheduled.
Certified Personal Trainer or Group Fitness Certification (ACE, ACSM, ISSA, NASM, NSCA etc.)
This position will remain posted until filled, with a preferred application deadline of April 1st, 2026.
This position is benefits-eligible for workers' compensation and will receive 1 hour of paid sick leave for every 30 hours worked, up to a maximum of 48 hours per year.
