Sonora Elementary School District Executive Administrative Assistant
To provide administrative support in all operational matters to the Superintendent so that he/she may devote maximum attention to the central problems of education and educational administration.
Employment Classification: This is a confidential classification. This person is employed in this assignment as an hourly employee.
Job Description:
Serves as administrative assistant to Superintendent; performs a variety of assigned administrative duties, following up on administrative assignments and communicating directives to staff.
Completes correspondence and memos independently or from oral instructions;
Receives and greets public and staff personally or by telephone; answers inquiries; attempt to resolve complaints/problems when appropriate; makes appropriate referrals;
Schedules appointments, schedule meetings and maintains calendar;
Reviews and routes incoming mail; establish and maintain filing systems;
Updates board policies for board approval; act as information source for district policies and procedures;
Prepares drafts of Board agenda and back up material; finalize and post;
Attends and takes official minutes of board meetings;
Drafts resolutions for board approval;
Prepares yearly CBEDS report;
Monitors filing of Form 700 for board members, administrative staff and management;
Maintains interdistrict transfer requests;
Processes appropriate documents/letters relating to student expulsions (notice of hearing, notice of action, notice to extend suspensions);
Assists in preparation of annual audit;
Maintains confidentiality on all district matters
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
High school diploma
Three to five years of successful office experience.
Demonstrated proficiency in using word processing and data base programs on a personal computer including speed and accuracy.
